British Rapper Central Cee Converts to Islam, Adopts New Name ‘Akhil’

World‑renowned British rapper Central Cee, who rose to fame from London, has embraced Islam. He announced his conversion during a recent online livestream, where he recited the Shahada and formally declared his acceptance of the faith. Following his conversion, he also adopted a new name: Akhil.
According to a report by Islamic Information, the 27‑year‑old artist shared the news during a livestream with content creator PlaqueBoyMax. Central Cee, whose birth name was Oakley Neil Caesar‑Su, said he now wishes to be known as Akhil.
Growing up in Shepherd’s Bush, London, Central Cee began his music career in 2014. His breakthrough came in 2021, when he became one of the most influential figures in the UK rap scene. He also holds the record as the first British rapper to achieve one billion streams on a single platform. His collaborations with global stars such as Drake and J. Cole have further strengthened his position in international music.
Although he rarely spoke publicly about his religious beliefs in the past, his recent spiritual transformation has sparked widespread discussion among fans. Social media users around the world have been congratulating him, while members of the Muslim community have warmly welcomed his decision.
