UK Online Press Club Forms Special Committee for Structural Overhaul

The UK Online Press Club has held an important virtual meeting aimed at reforming its organizational structure and making the organization more dynamic and effective. The meeting took place yesterday, Sunday, 8 February, at 2 PM UK time via Zoom. Participants discussed the current state of the organisation, plans, increasing membership, and drafting a timely and constructive constitution.

The session was presided over by the organisation’s President, Dr. Md. Zainul Abedin Roz, with lively moderation by General Secretary Dr. Azizul Ambia. During the meeting, thoughtful opinions and constructive discussions were shared by Mohammad Mokis Monsur, Syed Tawhid Fitrath, Kamrul A. Russell, Aminul Haque Jilu, Helen Islam, A. Rahman Oli, Nazrul Islam, Nurunnabi Ali, Misbahul Haque Masum, Roman Ahmad, Urmi Rahman, Masum Billah, Shakil Ahmed Sohag, and Shipon Mia.
To strengthen and streamline the organisation’s activities, a 15-member Special Coordination Committee was formed, appointing senior journalist Mohammad Mokis Monsur as Chief Coordinator and writer Syed Tawhid Fitrath as Coordinator. The committee members include Dr. Md. Zainul Abedin Roz, Dr. Azizul Ambia, Mohammad Mokis Monsur (Chief Coordinator), Syed Tawhid Fitrath (Coordinator), Imdadun Khan, Aminul Haque Jilu, Khairul Alam Lincoln, Helen Islam, Nazrul Islam, Asma Matin, Nurunnabi Ali, Misbahul Haque Masum, Roman Ahmad, Masum Billah, Shakil Ahmed Sohag, Syed Kahel, and Shipon Mia.
It was decided that within the next two months, the committee will take effective initiatives to increase membership, draft a constructive and modern constitution, and prepare a proposal for a full committee reform. Leaders present at the meeting expressed optimism that the effective role of this committee will help transform the UK Online Press Club into a stronger, more united, and more active organisation for journalists.
